About us

Who are we?

The Victoria Road School development project is being spearheaded by the Torry Development Trust and Grampian Housing Association.  We want to develop the area in Torry between Victoria Road and Abbey Road, the site of the old Victoria Road Primary School which closed in 2008.

The Trust is a registered charity set up by people from the Torry to work on local issues and the needs of the community.

Our partners

We have been developing plans for the site with the help of an expert team.

  • David Murray Associates (architecture)

  • Cameron Ross (structural and civil engineering)

  • Beedie Mitchell (costing)

Scottish Towns Partnership (STP), Development Trusts Association Scotland (DTAS) and Grampian Housing Association worked with us on the proposals for the site.

We have also had considerable help from third sector (voluntary and community organisations) and social enterprises in Aberdeen.

Our proposals were put forward to Aberdeen City Council in August 2018 as part of the Trust’s bid to acquire the site from the Council.
